Nawwarah Travel & Tour Agency was founded in Stone Town over eight years ago with a simple promise — every guest is welcomed as family. From your first WhatsApp message to the final sunset sail, our small team of licensed local guides, drivers and dhow captains handles every detail personally, so your only job is to enjoy the island.

Yes — every itinerary is built around your family. Tell us your dates, interests, energy levels and any special requests (birthday celebrations, dietary needs, accessibility requirements). We will design a private day-by-day plan that flows at your pace, mixing beach time, culture and adventure exactly how you want it.
We specialise exclusively in private tours. That means your own vehicle, your own driver, your own guide and your own boat. No strangers, no waiting for late passengers, no rigid group schedules. It is just your family, moving through Zanzibar at your own rhythm.
Every tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off in a private air-conditioned vehicle, a licensed local guide, entrance fees where applicable, snorkel gear and life jackets, drinking water, and meals or snacks as described in each tour. The price you are quoted is the price you pay — no hidden surcharges or unexpected extras at the end of the day.
Yes. We provide door-to-door pickup from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport or any hotel, resort or villa anywhere on the island. Your driver will be waiting in arrivals with a name board, ready to help with luggage and get your holiday started immediately.
Pack light: swimsuit, reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brim hat, sunglasses and a light cover-up for sun protection. We provide towels, snorkel gear, life jackets and plenty of bottled water on every tour. A waterproof phone pouch is handy for sandbank and snorkeling trips. Leave valuables at the hotel — our vehicles are secure but travel light is best.
Zanzibar is a year-round destination. The dry season from June to October offers calm seas, clear skies and excellent snorkeling visibility — ideal for families. November to March brings warm turquoise water, lush greenery and the best kitesurfing conditions. Even during brief rain showers in April and May, tours run and the island is peaceful and beautifully green.
We accept bank transfer, mobile money (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money), cash in USD or Tanzanian Shillings, and secure card payments on request. A small deposit secures your dates — especially important during peak season — with the balance payable on the day of the tour or in advance, whichever you prefer. We send a simple booking confirmation via WhatsApp or email with all payment details.
We understand travel plans can change. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the tour receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24-48 hours receive a 50% refund or the option to reschedule at no extra cost. If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, you always receive a full refund or a rescheduled tour — your choice.
All of our guides are fluent in English and Swahili. French, German, Italian, Spanish and Arabic-speaking guides are available on request with advance booking. We match your family with a guide who not only speaks your language but understands your culture — making the history, spices and stories of Zanzibar come alive in a way that feels personal.
